AutoKnowledge News AutoKnowledge Releases New Knowledge
Management Software Ann Arbor, Michigan – August 10, 2007– AutoKnowledge (www.autoknowledge.com) of Ann Arbor, Michigan, a provider of knowledge management software for automotive product development has released version 5.2 of InfoWeb, its web based knowledge management software solution. InfoWeb 5.2 includes new enhancements that simplifies searching for data by allowing users to do keyword based search for data. AutoKnowledge has created new migration tools that make importing data residing in legacy systems and tools like Microsoft Excel quick and easy. Once the data is imported into InfoWeb, users can quickly search information and get a single, comprehensive view of automotive product development information from multiple sources. InfoWeb encourages reuse of product development information by making it easy to catalog and retrieve cross-referenced/correlated information. “We recognized through interacting with customers that making data easier to migrate would be a significant benefit. Once data is in InfoWeb, it is very easy to retrieve and analyze so we dedicated this release to making it easier to import and migrate information. We also added some additional productivity enhancements that users have requested,” stated Alex Brar, vice president of AutoKnowledge. AutoKnowledge has also released new search technology within their product that will allow users to search and present information from data sources outside of the InfoWeb repository. As an example, companies can now retrieve data directly from benchmarking, quality, craftsmanship and consumer research databases and present that information in the same view with other data that resides within the InfoWeb repository. Companies that want to maintain data in legacy solutions can seamlessly make information available to users via InfoWeb. InfoWeb 5.2 has also added new graphing capabilities for data analysis. Users can now create graphs from various types of data and export the graphics to presentations and word processing documents. InfoWeb has also added international capabilities for dynamically converting units of measure as well as multiple language support to enable knowledge sharing across global teams. "We continue to enhance our product based on the needs of the automotive product development community. We are continuously learning more about ways our product can improve knowledge sharing and we are committed to ongoing improvements in our product. We have a great product now and it will only get better over time," said Brar. About AutoKnowledge AutoKnowledge, founded by former automotive product developers, develops knowledge and document management solutions for the automotive industry.
